Rails fall in Section Semi’s

The Proctor Rails hockey season came to an end on Tuesday night when the Rails fell to Chisago Lakes Area by a score of 5-2.

The Wildcats started fast scoring three first period goals, taking a 3-0 lead after the first period.

The Rails responded back in the second period when Shane Gould made it 3-1 as he scored a power play goal at 3:24 of the second period. Jake Malec and Keenan McGovern added the assists.

Brodie Nordquist cut the Wildcats lead to 3-2 when he scored at 8:46 of the period and the Rails trailed by one goal at the end of the second period.

The Wildcats added a power play goal in the third to make it 4-2 while the Wildcats made it 5-2 later in the third period.

Tanner Haedrich finished with 32 saves on the night for the Rails while it was Jake Dubose stopping 23 Rails shots on goal.

The Rails end their season 8-19 overall, and they will graduate 12 seniors this year.The Wildcats improve to 19-8 and they will face Princeton for the section 5A title Thursday night in Isanti.
