Eskomos Ice Mercuries

The Esko Eskomos hosted the McGregor Mercuries on Thursday night. The Eskomos would find themselves on top when the final buzzer sounded, winning 73-49.

Esko held a large advantage at half, leading 39-20. The Mercuries would make the second half closer however, but wouldn’t be able to cut into the lead as the Eskomos outscored them 34-29 while grabbing the 73-49 victory.

Leading the Eskomos to the victory was a very balanced scoring attack. Judy Wagemaker, Ava Gonsorowski, and Ashley Gergerson all tallied 13 points in the win. Bailey Mudek and Hailey Salo each added 9, Kailee Kiminski tallied 8, Kailee Katt notched 7, and Karlie Kulas scored 1 point.

For the Mercuries in the loss, Kendra Mickelson and Danelle Demenge each notched 11, Gretchen Grams added 10 points, Korinna Mickelson scored 9, Amy Gelhar added 6, and Abby Hawkinson topped it off with 2 points.

The Eskomos improve to 16-4 with the win and will travel to play the Crosby-Ironton Rangers (10-9) on February 15th for a 3:30 PM game. The Mercuries fall to 16-4 on the season and will look to bounce back on the road against the Cromwell Cardinals (11-7) on February 15th.
