BARNUM- The Barnum Bombers boys baseball team is on their way to overcoming a slow start to the 2010 season by picking up their second straight win of the year. The Bombers picked up a big Polar League conference win at home Friday afternoon when they beat the Carlton Bulldogs 7-3.

Taylor Carlson was the winning pitcher Friday, pitching five innings in the victory. Carlson struck out eight Bulldog batters and allowed only three hits for Carlton. The Bombers held the Bulldogs scoreless until the seventh inning.

Barnum got on the scoreboard first Friday afternoon and never looked back in cruising to their four run win at home. Jacob Naslund was 2-3 with two runs batted in to lead the Bombers in their 8 hits on the day. Justin Newman also added two doubles in the win for Barnum.

The win raises the Bombers record to 2-6 overall on the season. Barnum will be back in action again on Tuesday when they travel to Cotton to take on the Cardinals. The Bulldogs fall 3-3 on the season and face the Chisholm Bluestreaks at home on Monday afternoon.
