In a showdown between two of the areas best teams that showcased two of the areas best pitchers Hermantown came away with the 2-1 win.

As expected, the game featured good pitching and great defense with few mistakes by either team. This would make scoring runs difficult for both. Cloquet scored it’s only run when Dalyce Gustafson beat out a mishandled throw to first with two outs. Hermantown’s runs would come when Katrina Korman uncharacteristically walked in a run and another scored on a tag up on an infield fly rule out.

Cloquet’s third on the season, the second game in a row where the Lumberjacks lost by just a single run, brings their record to 7-3. The Jacks will be back in action on Monday as they travel to Virginia. Hermantown will travel to Esko on Friday to take on the Eskomos.
