Eskomos Fall To Spartans

The Superior Spartans traveled to Esko and toppled the red hot Eskomos on Monday evening. The Eskomos fell in the game, 74-54, making it their second consecutive loss after winning 14 straight games.

The Spartans got up on the Eskomos early, leading 38-26 at the half and they wouldn’t look back, as they would outscore the Eskomos 36-28 in the second half en route to the 74-54 victory.

Leading the Spartans to victory was Jessica Lindstrom who had a game high 35 points. Hailey Kotney notched 13 in the win and Alyssa Correll pitched in 11. Also scoring in the win was McKen Kmecik with 9 and Malley O’Brien, Tailor Schuster, and Taylor Phillips all had 2 a piece.

In the loss for the Eskomos, Judy Wagemaker had a team high 17. Ava Gonsorowski and Ashley Bergerson each tallied 9, Hailey Salo added 6, Kailee Katt pitched in 5, Kailee Kiminski scored 4, and Erika Shady and Bailey Mudek topped it off with 2 each.

The Spartans improve to 14-2 on the season and will play Ashland (6-8) on February 6th. The Eskomos will look to rebound against the Two Harbors Agates (9-6) when they travel to play them on February 6th.
