First year Cloquet baseball head coach Rick Stowell, a longtime coach within the Cloquet youth program, has the Lumberjacks off to a solid 2-0 start after the Jacks beat powerhouse Mora 7-5 on Saturday in Cloquet.

Pitching a complete game and picking up the win was Tyler Tollerud. Tollerud helped his own cause with 2 hits and an RBI.

The Jacks were led offensively by Peter LaCourse who went 3-for-3 (including 2 doubles at the plate) and picking up 2 RBIs in the process. In addition to his catching duties, Jake Horn was 2-for-2 with a double and 2 RBIs.

Cloquet opened its season Friday night in Ashland where they picked up a 15-8 win.

The Jacks will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to Greenway.
