Floodwood 19 Barnum 5

The hosting Floodwood Polar Bears defeated the Bombers in this Polar League match-up on Thursday. Zach Heggedahl was the winning pitcher for Floodwood. He also went 4-5 from the plate in the win.

Two Harbors 11 Carlton 10

The hosting Agates downed the Bulldogs Thursday in this Polar League contest when Matt MacDonald singled in the winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning. Ben Ruberg drove in four runs for Two Harbors, while Chase Jokinen had 2 RBIs for Carlton.

McGregor 15 Cromwell 4

The McGregor Mercuries beat the Cardinals Thursday afternoon in McGregor in this Polar League battle. The loss was the fourth straight to start the 2010 season, while the Mercuries now improve to 1-1 on the season.

Esko 17 Silver Bay 8

The Esko Eskomos pounded out 13 hits and were assisted by 8 Mariner errors to beat Silver Bay by 11 runs. Adam Daveau went 4-4 with 5 runs batted in. Cody Smith also had three hits in the win. Cody Townsend was the winning pitcher.

Carlton 2 Two Harbors 1

The Carlton Bulldogs and the Agates of Two Harbors battled in a tight Polar League match up in Two Harbors Tuesday afternoon. With the win, Carlton improves to 3-0 on the young season. They have held opponents to 3 runs in 3 games.

Barnum 6 Floodwood 2

The Barnum Bombers remained perfect on the season Thursday when they beat the Polar Bears in this Polar League battle. Katie Myhre was the winning pitcher for Barnum. Jessica Newman went 2-4 with 2 runs scored.


Cloquet 10 Superior 3

The Cloquet Lumberjacks opened their 2010 softball season with a seven-run win over Superior in Superior on Thursday afternoon. Lizz Jezerski went 3-5 for Cloquet, Courtney Esse added two hits and the winning pitcher was Rachel Smith.

McGregor 8 Cromwell 6

The McGregor Mercuries downed the Cardinals 8-6 in a polar league match-up Thursday afternoon in McGregor. The Mercuries improve to 3-1 on the season and the Cromwell Cardinals fall to 0-4 on the year.
