Barnum Girls Pick Up Second Consecutive Shut-Out

The Barnum Bombers picked up their second straight win in two days when they shut out the Rush City Tigers Friday afternoon 18-0. The Bombers also picked up their second no hitter in as many days. Their season is off to a solid
2-0 start.

Katrina Newman and Katie Myhre combined for the no hitter on Friday, picking up the second shut-out in two days as well. The Bombers have yet to give up a run on the season. Newman pitched two innings in the win and finished with three strikeouts. Myhre pitched three innings and had one strikeout.


The Bombers were led offensively by several players who all had two hits including Jessica Newman, Allainie Hanek-Siltanen, Katie Myhre, Paige Riley, and Alyssa Tate in the Barnum victory.


The Bombers improve to 2-0 on the season and are in action again on Thursday afternoon when they face the Floodwood Polar Bears in Floodwood. The Polar Bears have started their softball season by dropping their first two games against Hill City and Two Harbors.
