Former Bomber Involved in Record Setting Race

Former Barnum Bomber athlete Jenna Halverson took part in a record-breaking event for the University of Wisconsin- Superior track team this past weekend. Jenna a junior Yellow jacket is in her third season as part of the UWS track and Filed team. Halverson and three teammates broke the school record in the 4 x 800 meter relay.

The women’s relay team consisted of Halverson, from Barnum, Senior Katee Rosburg, or Superior, Senior Nancy Hudack, of Ashland, and Cassey Hoffmanna a junior from Waukesha, Wisconsin shattered a nine-year-old school record in the 4 x 800 / 3200-meter relay on Saturday at the Drake Relays in Des Moines Iowa.

Their record setting time of 9:38.25 was over 23 seconds faster than the previous record of 10:01.64, which was set in 2000. The women’s track & field team now prepares for the WIAC outdoor conference meet which will take place on May 1st and May 2nd, and will be hosted by UW-Oshkosh.

Halverson a 2006 Barnum graduate, is also part of the schools record holding 4 x 400 Meter Relay team as well. Halverson along with current teammates Hudack, and Roseburg and 2008 UWS graduate Samantha Miller set the record back in 2007.
