Calcaterra Named Second Team All-State

Cloquet’s senior center Chad Calcaterra added yet another award to his career thus far when he was named second team all-state by the media. The media throughout Minnesota votes on this award.


Calcaterra, who has been sought after for several years by numerous division one colleges, will attend Colorado State next season. Calcaterra helped lead Cloquet to the section finals the past two seasons.


Those named to the first team All State were Marshall Bjorklund of Sibley East (Bjorklund was also named the All-State Player of the year), Joe Coleman of Hopkins, Kevin Noreen of Minnesota Transitions Charter, Alec Brown of Winona, and Jacob Thomas of Columbia Heights made up the rest of the All-State first team.


Joining Calcaterra on the second team all-state roster was Dyami Starks of Duluth East, Estan Tyler of St. Paul Johnson, Trevor Gruis of Ellsworth, and Ben Bucholz of Perham.


Local players named as honorable mention included; Michael Johnson of Grand Rapids, Anders Broman of Lakeview Christian Academy, Tyler Vaughn of Braham, Cavan Stackpool from Virginia, and Eric Stark of Grand Rapids.
