The Moose Lake-Willow River Rebels girls softball team continued their fast start to the season by winning their third game in a row. On
Monday,
they beat
Hinckley-Finlayson by a score of 10-1. The Jaguars were looking to snap a five game losing streak, but they fell short by nine Rebel runs.

“We hit the ball against Hinckley-Finlayson,” head coach Katie Collier told Northland Sports Online. “Emily Wasche had a great game for us as she had four stolen bases and is the catalyst at the top of the order.” “She puts us in great position when she can get on base, and with Mary Moonen right behind her we have a great chance to score every time she is on base,” Collier also stated.

Emily Wasche finished 1-4 with the four stolen bases and 2 RBIs, Maddy Adamczak was 2-3 with 2 RBIs, and Hillary Peterson finished 2-4 with 2 RBIs as well. Katie Youngberg was the winning pitcher, pitching seven innings and facing only 27 batters. She struck out eight, walked one, and gave up the oneunearned run.

With the win, the Rebels moved to 4-1 on the season and will play at Cook County Tuesday. The Jaguars fall to 2-5 on the season and travel as well, making the short trip to Sandstone on Thursday to play East Central.
