The Two Rivers conference announced their 2009-2010 all-conference team and the awards just keep coming in for the MLA Rebels.
MLA had a conference-leading five players named to the first team and four named academic all-conference.


First team all-conference selections were team captain Michael Unzen. As a senior leader, Unzen scored 15 goals and 17 assists for 32 points. Joining Unzen were teammates Ville Mattala, Josh Cisar, Chris Gassert, and goalie Austin Lanoue.


Mattala led the Rebels in goals (25), assists (21), and points (46). Mattala was the second leading goal scorer in the conference, behind conference MVP Jarad Sachs of North Branch. Cisar finished second to Mattala in goal (15), assists (17) and team points (34). Gassert also scored 15 goals for MLA, while notching 14 assists for a total of 29 points. Lanoue, a unanimous first team
choice
led the rebels with a 3.42 goals against and a .875 saves percentage. Lanoue also led the conference in wins with 18.


Zach Cisar and Adam Ryan were honorable mention selections for the first year conference.


Fifth year head coach Sherm Liimatainen received honors also, being named Two Rivers Conference Coach of the Year.
