Girls Basketball

Cloquet 65 International Falls 41

Brianna Henagin scored a game high of 19 points as the Lumberjacks closed out their regular season with a win on the road Friday night. Annabel Morrisroe also added 11 points in the Lumberjack victory.

Cromwell 49 Onamia 29

Makayleigh Cahoon scored 26 points on Friday night as the Cardinals defeated the Panthers in this Section 5A match-up. The Cardinals led by eight points at halftime and rolled to the 20-point win.

Carlton 70 Silver Bay 29

Clarissa Nelson scored a game high of 26 points to lead the Bulldogs to the Polar League win in Silver Bay on Friday night. Sarah Aili and Katie Bloom each added 13 points in the win for Carlton.

Barnum 85 Cook 44

Katrina Newman scored 22 points and Sarah Myhre added 20 points Friday night as the Bombers wrapped up the Polar League championship in Grand Marais. Barnum jetted to a huge first half lead and never looked back, going on to win by 41 points.

Boys Basketball

Superior 75 Cloquet 70

Joel Lindberg scored 28 points Friday night to help the Spartans defeat the Lumberjacks in Cloquet. Lindberg put Superior ahead with 3:13 remaining in the second half as they finished with the 5 point win. Chad Calcaterra led Cloquet with 27 points.

AlBrook 74 Cotton 42

Kolten Karppinen scored a game high of 26 points as the Falcons shot down the Cardinals in this St. Louis County contest Friday night. The Falcons built up a 23-point half time lead and never looked back as the Cardinals remain winless on the season.

Braham 74 MLWR 68


Tyler Vaugh scored a game high 41 points to lead the hosting Bombers to a section win Friday night in Braham. Trevor Nummela scored 17 points and Taylor Mattison added 16 points in the Rebel loss.

Cromwell 74 Onamia 55

Cody Smith scored 26 points Friday night and Jordan Smith put in15 points in this Section 5A contest in Cromwell. Jordan Smith reached the 1,000 point plateau for his career for the Cardinals.

Esko 67 Hinckley-Finlayson 53


Jake Stainbrook scored a game high of 26 points Friday night as the Eskomos defeated the Jaguars in this Section 7AA contest in Esko. Esko led by ten points at halftime and cruised to the 14-point win.

Hermantown 82 Proctor 38


The Hermantown Hawks had twelve players score in Friday night’s Lake Superior Conference win at home. Colten Zacharias scored 21 points in the win for the Hawks. Kaz Anderson paced the Rails with 16 points.

Girls Basketball

Duluth East 64 Esko 59

Macie Dorow scored 21 points Saturday as the Duluth East Greyhounds shot down the Eskomos in this non-conference contest at Duluth East. Savanna Trapp led Esko with 14 points on the afternoon, she also added 16 rebounds.

Boys Basketball

Mora 67 Esko 57


Andrew Good led four Mustangs with double figures on Saturday as Mora beat the Eskomos in this Section 7AA match-up in Mora. Jackson Lindquist paced the Eskomos with 25 points on the night, including four three-pointers.

Barnum 58 Hinckley-Finlayson 36

Josh Hogan scored 19 points to lead the Bombers to the non-conference win at home Saturday afternoon. Barnum built up a 15-point half time lead and easily rolled to the 22-point win
