Newman Hits 1000 in Bombers Victory

Brandon Newman connected for 34 points Saturday night at home as the bombers knocked off the Two Harbors Agates in a Polar League Conference win as Bombers won 76-50 and Newman reaching the 1000 point plateau.

The Bombers who held a seven point 28-21 lead at halftime outscored the Agates 48-29 in the second half for the 26 point home win. Newman and Zach Carlson each also connected on three 3-pointers in the win.

Newman’s 34 points paced the Bombers but Zach Carlson also had a very strong performance as he finished with 25 points in the Bombers win. Hunter Fetters added 5 points, while it was Tory Slater, Chase Peterson, and Nathan Jelinek all finishing with 4 points.

Alex Lemke led the Agates with 17 points on the night including two 3-pointers, Kyler Kinn added 9 points, Kyle Omtvedt chipped in with 8 including two 3 pointers and it was John Peer who added 7 points in the loss.

The Bombers move to 6-1 on the season overall and they will face South Ridge in Culver on Monday night in a non conference contest. Two Harbors falls to 4-4 overall and they will face the Carlton Bulldogs Monday night in Carlton.
