Lady Bombers Capture Agate Tournament

The Barnum Bombers knocked off the host Two Harbors Agates Saturday as the Bombers won the Two Harbors girls basketball tournament with a 47-28 victory over the Agates.

Cheyanne Johnson and Emily Miletitch each scored in double figures for the Bombers. Barnum opened up a 21-13 lead at halftime and then rolled in the second half to the 19 point win.

Miletitch finished with 13 points while Johnson added 12 for the Bombers. Lauren Hultgren scored 9 points, while it was Lissa Warpula adding 5. Daron Mainville and Jaelyn Bushey each finished with 4 points for the Bombers.

The Agates were led by Laura Schraufnagel who scored 7 points; Casey Cross added 5, while Brianna Stuberud and Brianna McGrath each added 4 in the loss for Two Harbors.

The Bombers move to 6-2 overall on the season and they are home next Friday as they will host Silver Bay in a conference match-up. The Agates fall to 5-2 on the season and they will be home next Friday night when they host Isle.

In the third place game of the Two Harbors tournament Mary Baumgartner scored 20 points to lead the Hilltoppers of Duluth Marshall to a 53-22 win over Silver Bay. Tara Dow scored 15 for the Mariners in the loss.
