Duluth Marshall Squeezes By Two Harbors In OT

The Duluth Marshall Hilltoppers and Two Harbors Agates would battle into overtime on Friday night with the Hilltoppers getting the advantage late and grabbing the 77-74 victory.

The Agates would hold a seven point advantage at the half, 31-24, but that wouldn’t stop the Hilltoppers as they would battle back from the deficit and outscore the Agates 47-40 in the second half to send it into overtime. Duluth Marshall would then hang onto the victory, outscoring the Agates 6-3 in the overtime to grab their 4th win of the season.

In the win, Levi Staine would lead Marshall on the evening with 22 points. The Hilltoppers would also get nice performances from Alex Davis, Adam Kneepkens, and Cole Bradshaw who posted 17 points, 14 points, and 14 points respectively. Chris Nordman would get 4 points on the board, Cole Feriancek added 3, Addison Aparicio posted 2 points and Jack Schenk topped it off with 1.

In the loss for the Agates, Alex Lemke would lead all scoring on the night with 31 points. John Peers Jr would add 15 points and Kyle Omtvedt tacked on 11. Calvin Luhrsen added 8, Tim Bott pitched in 6, and Kyler Kinn rounded it out with 3 points.

Duluth Marshall imrpoved to 4-5 on the season with the win and will not play until next year when they face off with the Pine City Dragons (5-2) on January 4th on the road. Two Harbors drops to 4-3 on the season and will travel to play the Barnum Bombers (4-1) on December 28th.
