Langenbrunner leads Jacks Past Golden Bears

Makayla Langenbrunner scored twice as the Lumberjacks picked up a home win Thursday night over the Eveleth-Gilbert Golden Bears by a score of 3-0.

Langenbrunner’s first goal came in the second period to break a scoreless tie when Langenbrunner took a pas from Jade Alvillar and put the puck past Golden Bear net-minder Kora Bonicatto.

Courtney Ketola scored the Jacks second goal of the game as she tipped in a CJ Stoyanoff shot at 5:04 of the third period to put Cloquet-Esko-Carlton in front by a score of 2-0.

Langenbrunner added her second goal of the game at the 9:02 mark to make it 3-0 and that is how the game would end. Michaela Sunnarborg and Lexi Robideaux assisted on the Langenbrunner goal.

Stacey Nelson stopped all 5 shots she faced for the Lumberjacks in the victory, while Bonicatto stopped 32 shots in the loss.
