Sophie McGovern, just a sophomore, notched the hat trick for the Mirage.  The hat trick for McGovern was her third of the season.

McGovern got the first goal of the game 5:27 of the first period on the power play with assists to Reilly Fawcett and Jillayne Gilbert.  Fawcett made it 2-0 at 5:42 on an assist by McGovern and the lead went to 3-0 on McGovern’s second goal of the game at 10:30 with Hannah Johnson and Fawcett assisting.  The final goal for the Mirage in the first period was McGovern again at 10:54.

The Mirage went up 5-0 on the power play at 11:21 of the second period when Mikayla Kero scored with Fawcett and Gilbert assisting.  The Northern Stars cut the lead to 5-1 on an Alexia Klaas goal at 16:26 of the second period and that’s how things stood after two periods of play.

Klaas notched a shorthanded goal early in the third period and then Brionna Stafne added a power play goal at 4:43 to make it 5-3, but an empty net goal by Fawcett with an assist to Gilbert ended the scoring giving the Mirage the win.
