Boys Basketball

Barnum 66 Carlton 33

Josh Hogan scored 15 points and nabbed 11 rebounds in the Bomber Polar League at home Tuesday night. Taylor Carlson added 8 points and 17 rebounds in the Barnum win. Jake Adams finished with 12 for Carlton.

AlBrook 71 Cook County 70 (OT)


The AlBrook Falcons picked up a big Section 7A win on the road Tuesday night. The Falcons one point win helps them improve to 9-5 on the season, and moves them into second place in the southern half of the section standings.

Cromwell 53 Northland 45

Cody Smith scored 21 points Tuesday as the Cardinals defeated the Eagles at Remer Tuesday night. A low scoring first half saw Cromwell leading 17-11 at the break. Cromwell outscored the Eagles by one in the second half for the win.

Duluth Central 69 Proctor 28

Darcell Williams scored 32 points Tuesday night as the visiting Trojans beat the Rails in Proctor. The Trojans led 23-14 at halftime and went on to the forty-one point win. Ryan Rands led the Rails in scoring with 12 points.

ML-WR 50 East Central 43

The Moose Lake-Willow River Rebels got back in the win column after losing three straight games. The Rebels picked up the seven-point win Tuesday night in Sandstone. The Rebels still are atop the Polar League standings.

Girls Basketball

Cook County 71 AlBrook 32

Essa Jacobson poured in 20 points Tuesday for the Vikings as they won this non-conference game at home. Cook County led 48-14 at halftime and easily went on to win by thirty-nine. Ariel Morris led the Falcons with 9 points.

Duluth Central 59 Proctor 23

Mary VonRueden hit three three-pointers on her way to a game high of 28 points as the Duluth Central Trojans beat the Rails at home Tuesday night. The Trojans led by only eight at halftime, but exploded for 39 second-half points in the win.

Esko 77 Hinckley-Finlayson 30


Keely Deadrick hit five three-pointers as the Eskomos defeated the Jaguars in Hinckley on Tuesday night. Deadrick finished with a game high of 26 points for Esko. Jena Ellingson led the Jaguars with 8 points in the loss.

Hibbing 66 Hermantown 45

Laicee Grahek scored a game high of 22 points as the Bluejackets beat the Hawks at home in this Section 7AAA girls match up. Hibbing hit four three-pointers on the night and went 12-16 from the free throw line. Nicole Niemi and Jessica Love led the Hawks with 11 points each.

Two Harbors 72 Wrenshall 10

The Two Harbors Agates picked up a Polar League win at home Tuesday with their win over Wrenshall. Jenny Nelson finished with 14 points, leading the Agates in scoring. Olivia Frey led the Wrens with 8 points on the night.
