Cloquet Girls Come Up Short Against Hibbing

The Cloquet Lady Jacks came up just short against Hibbing at home on Tuesday, falling by a score of 73 to 61. Cloquet trailed by seven (33-25) at the half and went on to lose by 12.


Annabel Morrisroe turned in another great performance, scoring 32 points for the Jacks. However, turnovers and points off of turnovers were the big difference in the game. Cloquet committed 30 turnovers, with Hibbing converting them into 29 points. While the Lumberjacks did force 24 Hibbing turnovers, they were only able to convert those into 10 points.


Joining Morrisroe in double figures was Kialee Kutter with 12 points. Brianna Henagin added five points, while Sarah McMillen, Katie Pappas and Krista Schmitz all ended the night with four points for the Jacks.


The Bluejackets finished with three players in double figures. The trio of Hillary Bungarden, Whitney Finco, and Laicee Grahek all ended with 15 points. Others scoring for Hibbing were Kate Lange with 8, Kayla Swanson and Hailey Smith with 7 points each, Katie McLaughin with 4 and Kayla Barnhill with 2 points.


With the loss, Cloquet is now 5-9 on the season. The Jacks will travel to Hermantown to take on the Hawks at 7:30pm.
