The Proctor Rails were looking for another big upset on Tuesday night. A week ago, the Rails pulled out a shocking upset over Duluth Marshall and were looking to do the same against the Hermantown Hawks. Despite keeping things close for two periods, the Rails fell to the dominant Hawks 7-3.

The Hawks and Rails were tied at 1-1 in the first period until Hermantown scored two late goals by Garrett Skrbich and Kevin Danielson at 15:59 and 16:30 to gain a 3-1 lead after the opening stanza.

Proctor cut into the Hermantown lead on a goal by Cody Gauthier at 6:02 of the second and the Rails tied it at 7:42 on a goal by Andrew Michalski, his second of the game. However, the Hawks bounced back before the second period ended when Skrbich notched his second goal of the game at 11:55, giving Hermantown a 4-3 edge entering the final period.

In the third period, the Hawks scored three unanswered goals by Charlie Comnick at 3:23, Jeff Paczynski at 12:11 and Chad Bannor at 15:11 to solidify the win.

For the game, the Hawks outshot the Rails 53 to 9. Derek Robinson made 46 saves for the Rails while Tiegen Brickson had six saves for the Hawks.
