Michaelson Second For CEC Ski Team

finished second in the girls nordic combined meet Monday night at Snowflake Nordic Ski Center in Duluth. Michaelson’s second place finish put Cloquet-Esko-Carlton ahead of Proctor via a tie breaker.


The girls varsity meet was won by Lydia Jacobs of Marshall. Catlin Rudolph-Lavalier of Duluth Central was third, and Megan Coughlin and Lee Weintraub finished 4th and 5th respectively for Marshall. Other CEC finishers were Molly Meysembourg in sixth place, Kelsey Mudek was 14th, Elly Siptroth was 17th, Korbyn Danielson was 19th and rounding out the CEC skiers was Sara Gleason in 24th.


Marshall won the girls meet as a team, while Duluth Central took second, CEC finished in third, Proctor was fourth based on a tie breaker, and Denfeld finished in 5th place. On the boys side it was Marshall taking home first, Duluth Central was second, Proctor was third, CEC finished fourth and Denfeld was 5th overall. The Lumberjack boys were skiing without Raleigh Goessling, who is in Sweden for the world junior biathlon tournament.


Nate Ward of Duluth Denfeld finished first in the boys varsity meet and Nick Power of Duluth Marshal was second. Joel Bransky from Duluth Central finished 3rd, Josef Fairbanks from Duluth Marshall was 4th and Mitch Campbell from Marshall finished 5th. Duncan Fox was 13th and Tyler Goebel finished 15th for the CEC boys.
