MLA Boys Trounce Medow Creek Christian 9-1

Moose Lake Area picked up a solid win in boys hockey Thursday night when they defeated Meadow Creek Christian 9-1 behind a hat trick by Josh Cisar and a five point night from Zach Cisar.

Zach Cisar got things going at 1:23 of the first period when he scored shorthanded for the Rebels with Josh Cisar assisting and MLA was off and rolling. The Rebels added a power play goal by Adam Ryan at 3:30 with Tyler Cisar and Zach Cisar assisting. It went to 3-0 when Josh Cisar scored on the power play at 10:10 of the first period with Zach Cisar adding yet another assist. Still, before the period ended, the Rebels added a goal by Michael Unzen at 16:28 with goalie Austin Lanoue picking up an assist. At the end of one period the Rebels were up 5-0.

The second period was more of the same for the Rebels as they scored four times to build a 9-0 lead. Chris Gassert scored a shorthanded tally with Hayden Hoffman assisting just 25 seconds into the middle stanza. Then it was back to back goals by Josh Cisar at 4:12 and 7:08. Zach Cisar added the assist on the first of the two goals by Josh Cisar. Then Zach Cisar added another goal at 7:42 and the Rebels were soaring to a 9-0 edge.

Meadow Creek Christian finally scored with 30 seconds remaining in regulation, but the game was already decided.

Despite the lopsided victory, the Rebels only outshot the Saints by a 38-31 margin as Austin Lanoue picked up 30 saves for the Rebels in notching the win.
