Wilderness end Roadtrip with 2-0 Victory

Kaskisuo blanks Kenai River, 2-0

The Minnesota Wilderness ended their five game Alaskan Road trip Saturday night, as the Wilderness shut out the Brown Bears of Kenai River as the Wilderness finish the road trip 2-3 over all.

Kasimir Kaskisuo made 35 saves to complete the shutout and led the Wilderness to a 2-0  shut out win against Kenai River.

Terry Leabo,scored on the power play goal 5:58 into the second period to make the score 1-0 in favor of the Wilderness, Wilderness. Jack Forbert got the assist on the Leabo goal.

The Wilderness also got a goal from Dariann Romanko in the third period to give the Wilderness a 2-0 lead Johno May, and Dominik Tiffels had an assist on the Romanko goal.

Kenai River racked up the penalties in the contest, and ended with five minors and three majors for 65 minutes in penalty time. The total exceeded the 19.0 minutes per game the Brown Bears had been spending in the box. Kenai River did not reach the goal total it has come to expect this season. The Brown Bears put an average of 2.7 pucks into the net per game. Kenai River’s offense rang up 35 shots on the Wilderness’ net.

The  Wilderness totaled 15 minutes in penalty time with five minors and one major and went 1-for-5 on the power play. Kenai River’s Zach Quinn stopped 32 shots out of the 34 that he faced.
