Esko Girls Move To 11-1 With Victory Over McGregor

The Esko Eskomos won their eleventh game of the season and moved atop the Polar League standings Thursday night when they downed the McGregor Mercuries in a Polar League contest at home. The Eskomos jumped out to a 44-17 halftime lead and went on their way to a 74-31 win.


Amanda Bergstedt led the way for the Eskomos, pouring in five three-pointers on the night. She finished with a game total of 24 points and leading all scorers. Bergstedt was one of nine Eskomos to score in the win on Thursday.


Keely Deadrick knocked down 18 points for the Eskomos, Lydia Pelletier had 9 points, Katie Tonner and Alyson Glumac both finished with 6, Savanna Trapp added 4, Katie Marquis ended with 3, Steph Miller and Danielle Salo both scored 2 points in the Esko win.


Esko moves to 11-1 on the season and will be in action again on Friday night when they host Pequot Lakes in a much anticipated girls match-up. Pequot Lakes, one of the best programs year in and year out, enter Friday’s game with a record of 10-2.


Hope Sorenson led the Mercuries in scoring with 9 points on the night. Casey Pierce added 8 and Sarah Sample score 6 in the loss for McGregor. The Mercuries fall to 7-4 on the season and will play at Floodwood on Monday night.
