Esko capitalized on Carlton mistakes on Thursday night and the Eskomos came away with an 11-1 win in girl’s softball. The game, played at Chub Lake Park in Carlton, was played in windy and cool conditions.

The Eskomos scored a lone run in the first inning, three in the second, two in the third and five in the fourth inning. Leading the Eskomos in the hitting department were Sarah Krocka and Katyanna Emanuel. Krocka had three hits and Emanuel added a pair of hits.

Carlton had seven errors in the game and only three of the Eskomo runs were earned off Bulldog pitcher Mia Saunders.

“We definitely beat ourselves even though Esko hit the ball hard,” said Carlton coach Brooke Tondryk-Lee. “We rushed and made errors, but the one thing I have to keep in mind is that these girls are young and that most of our team is 8-10th graders.”
