On Thursday night, the visiting Cloquet Lumberjacks found themselves trailing the Hibbing Bluejackets at halftime 30-27. However, tables turned when Cloquet made corrections at the break and Tim Defoe found a hot hand. The Lumberjacks came back to down the Bluejackets by 65-55.

Tim Defoe lit it up from the outside, scoring a career high of 29 points for the night. The Lumberjacks, still playing without senor sensation Chad Calcaterra, have found others to step and help carry the load. Another player playing well over past few weeks has been RaRa Jones, who had another nice game as he poured in 16 points.

Following Defoe and Jones, the Lumberjacks scoring breakdown was Andy Wappes with 11, Peter LaCourse had 3, and Zack Zezulka. Rounding out the scoring was Ben Shultz and Connor Stowell with 2 points each in the Lumberjack win.

The Bluejackets were led by Logan Coleman who had 20 points on the night. Evan Lister added 14, Matt Tourville 7, Ezra Coughlin 5, Pat Milani 4, Connor Perry scored 3, and Chris Hanson with 2 points.

Cloquet has now won three games in a row and improves to 7-3 on the season. The Lumberjacks will be in action again on Tuesday when they face the Ashland Oredockers in Ashland. This being their third straight loss, Hibbing falls to 5-5 on the season. The Bluejackets next play at home against Duluth East on Tuesday night.
