Boys Basketball

Cloquet 65 Duluth Central 47

The Cloquet Lumberjacks spotted the Trojans a 5-0 lead, but the Jacks stormed right back after a Tim Defoe three-pointer to put the score at 7-5. The Lumberjacks never looked back as they cruised to pick up the Lake Superior Conference win at Duluth Central. RaRa Jones led the Lumberjacks with 20 points.

Barnum 41 Floodwood 31

The Barnum Bombers stayed perfect Tuesday night when they got a 41-31 Polar League win at Floodwood. Barnum used a balanced scoring attack Tuesday night, putting nine players in the scoring column. Josh Hogan finished with 10 points. Justin Newman had 9 points and also added 8 assists on the night.

Chisholm 85 Proctor 35

Chisholm took a thirteen point halftime lead of 38-25 and exploded for 47 second half points to beat the Proctor Rails Tuesday night at Proctor High School. Adam Vake led all scorers with 27 points for the Bluestreaks. The Rails were led by Kaz Anderson, who had 16 on the night.

Esko 70 Wrenshall 35

The Esko Eskomos doubled up the Wrenshall Wrens in a Polar League contest at home on Tuesday night. Esko had four players score in double figures Tuesday, with Adam Eskuri leading the way with 15 points on the night. Aaron Gustafson led Wrenshall in scoring, ending with 10 points.

ML-WR 61 Cook County 43

On Tuesday night, the Moose Lake-Willow River Rebels took a 34-25 half time lead and extended it to 18 in winning the Polar League contest in Willow River. Caleb Koecher and Austin Jacobson paced ML-WR, each finishing with 12 points on the night.

Silver Bay 59 Carlton 47

The hosting Silver Bay Mariners held off a late charge by the Carlton Bulldogs Tuesday to come away with the 12 point win. Kyle Blood scored 17 points in the win for Silver Bay. The Bulldogs were led in scoring by Jake Adams, who had a game high of 18 points. Allan Davis added 12 in the loss.

Superior 87 Hermantown 44

The Superior Spartans took a 46-27 halftime lead and extended the final margin to 43 points to gain the Lake Superior Conference win over the Hawks. Joel Lindberg led the Spartans with 22 points on the night, while the Hawks were paced by Cory Kucza with 13 points.

Cromwell 59 Hill City 57

The visiting Cromwell Cardinals won this tight game Tuesday night. Cromwell led by one at the break (22-21) and outscored the Hornets 37-36 in the second half to come away with the hard fought win. Both Ryan Hutar and Cody Smith had 16 points in the Cardinal win. Zach Konzera had a game high of 30 in the
Hill City loss.

Girls Basketball

Carlton 81 Silver Bay 22

The Carlton Bulldogs led by 33 at the break and easily rolled to the Polar League Conference win Tuesday night in Silver Bay. Sarah Aili and Clarissa Nelson led a scoring barrage of ten Bulldogs with 17 points each. The Mariners were led by Katrina Nelson, who finished with 10 points.

Cloquet 61 Duluth Denfeld 48

The Cloquet Lumberjacks jumped out to an early 13-0 lead and never looked back in winning the Lake Superior Conference game. Cloquet’s Annabel Morrisroe led all scorers with 28 points. Sarah McMillen added 12 and Katie Pappas added 10 points in the Lumberjack win. Morgan Wallner led the Hunters with 11 points on the night.

Hermantown 43 Duluth East 37

The Hermantown Hawks used balanced scoring to get past Duluth EastTuesday with a six point win. Jessica Love paced the Hawks with 13 points in the victory, while teammate Mary Neumann added 12 for Hermantown. Alex Freeman led the Greyhounds in scoring with 13.

Cook County 70 ML-WR 45

The Cook County Vikings took advantage of several Moose Lake-Willow River miscues to take a 15 point lead. They never hesitated in going on to win the Polar League matchup in Willow River on Tuesday. Brea Boomer led the Vikings with 19 points on the night. Maddy Adamczak led the Rebels with 20 points.
