A three-goal third period helped Robbinsdale Cooper rally for a 3-2 win over Moose Lake Area in boys hockey tournament play on Tuesday night. The Rebels led 1-0 entering the final period, but were unable to hold on for the win at the tournament held in Silver Bay.

The Rebels took a 1-0 lead at 12:12 of the first period when Chris Gassert thumped in a goal with Ville Mattala and Josh Cisar assisting. The goal by Gassert would be the only goal of the game until the wild and wooly third period.

RC tied the game on an Orion Hunter goal just 31 seconds into the period, and before the Rebels could react they were down 2-1 when RC scored again just a minute and twenty one seconds later.

The Rebels tied the game at 2-2 at 9:46 on a goal by Tyler Cisar with Zach Cisar and Josh Cisar assisting.
However, that lead was short lived as RC scored at the 10:33 mark, less than a minute later, to take the lead back on a goal by Tom Monteiro. Montiero’s goal would be the final goal of the game.

Austin Lanoue did his best to fend of Robbinsdale Cooper as he was called on to make 37 saves on 40 shots, while RC goalie David Bajari made 20 saves on 22 shots.
