Girls Basketball

Barnum 59 New Life 31

To complete the boys/girls double header sweep, the Barnum Bombers defeated New Life Academy of Woodbury 59-31 in Barnum on Tuesday. Katrina Newman’s 29 points
came within two points of totaling the Eagles output of 31. Jessica Newman added 11 points for the Bombers. Junior Cara Lutes led New Life with 18 points.

Isle 66 Carlton 58

Carlton kept their game with Isle tight in the first half, trailing only by a point (35-34) at the half. However, Isle pulled away just enough in the second half to get the road win over the Bulldogs 66-58. Hallie Raisanen led the Bulldogs with 15 points, while Katie Bloom followed closely behind with 14 points. Amber Zimpel led all scorers with 18 points in the win for Isle.

Hermantown 62 Cloquet 46

The Hawks scored 32 second half points to blow open a game against Cloquet that was tied 30-30 at halftime. Hermantown secured the road win 62-46 over the Lumberjacks in Tuesday’s LSC matchup. Jessica Love led the Hawks with 15 points. Brianna Henagin led all scorers with 17 in a losing effort for the Jacks.

Mora 61 Proctor 20

Proctor came out a bit flat and fell behind Mora 32-7 at halftime. Mora went on to defeat the Rails 61-20 in picking up the win on the road. Karlee Erickson led the Mustangs with 15 points while Abby Lundeen and Haylee Cloutier each scored 7 for the Rails.

Boys Basketball

Barnum 43 New Life 39

The Barnum boys defeated New Life Academy 43-39 Tuesday in Barnum. Taylor Carlson and Justin Newman paced the Bombers with 11 and 10 points respectfully.
Kory Kiekhofer led the Eagles with 10 points. With the win, the Bombers are now 6-0 on the season.

Cromwell 80 Carlton 56

Cody Smith’s 22 points led three Cardinals in double figures on the evening as Cromwell defeated the Carlton Bulldogs 80-56 at home on Tuesday. Ryan Hutar scored 20 and Jordan Smith added 15 for the Cards. The Bulldogs were led by Jake Adams, who had a huge night with 27 points.

Cloquet 77 Hermantown 68

RaRa Jones came up big for the Lumberjacks, dropping 32 points in the Jacks’ 77-68 win over Hermantown. Tim Defoe added 14 for Cloquet in the LSC road win. Michael Schwartz paced the Hawks with 21 points.

Esko 52 Denfeld 44

Jake Stainbrook’s 16 points helped Esko pick up the 52-44 road win over Denfeld. Adam Eskuri added 14 points for the Eskomos, who head into the Christmas break 5-0 on the season. Corey Bolen and Cortez Ham each scored 11 points for the Hunters.

McGregor 66 Wrenshall 33

ML-WR 67 Two Harbors 36

Austin Jacobson scored 25 points for the Rebels as they defeated Two Harbors by a score of 67-36 to stay a perfect 3-0 at home. The Rebels led by 20 at halftime and never looked back to get the non-conference victory. Taylor Mattison also crossed the 20 point plateau for the Rebels, scoring 21 points on the night.
