Boys Basketball

Crosby-Ironton 76 Hermantown 42

The Crosby-Ironton Rangers, ranked #3 in Class AA, took an early lead and never looked back as they downed the hosting Hermantown Hawks by 34 on Saturday. The Rangers improve to 5-0 on the season, while Hermantown falls to 4-3. Brock Tesdahl led all scorers with 22 points.

Girls Basketball

Floodwood 66 Esko 57

The Polar Bears broke a 24-24 tie late in the first half. They then went on a 24-5 run to get the win in the Esko Coach’s Classic. Mia Rauvola led Floodwood with 24 points, while the Bears’ Alissa Autio added 19. Tournament MVP Keely Deadrick finished with 30 for the Eskomos.

Nashwauk-Keewatin 41 Hermantown 39

Lindsey Kingsbury scored at the buzzer to give the Spartans a two point win over the Hermantown Hawks in the third place game of the Esko Coach’s Classic in Esko on Saturday. Hermantown’s Jessica Love made a free throw with 5.6 seconds remaining to tie the game at 39, before the Spartans won as time expired.
