Cloquet – Playing the second game of the mens/womens doubleheader, the FDLTCC mens basketball team picked up a convincing win at the Lester Briggs cultural center on Saturday afternoon. The Thunder beat St. Cloud Technical College 86-67 for their third win of the season.


Curtis Houle was able to put the “community” in community college for FDLTCC. Houle, a Barnum grad, led the Thunder with 13 points. Another local player, Steve Lyke of Floodwood, added 11 points while making his inside presence felt with an amazing 16 rebounds. Bruce Brooks had 13 points as well, while Travis Huesers finished with 12.


With the win, the Thunder are now 3-6 on the season. FDLTCC will take an extended holiday break with their next game scheduled until Monday January 4th when they host Gogebic Community College.
