The Hermantown Hawks remained perfect on the season,
winning
the front end of a weekend road trip with a 4-1 win over Hopkins on Friday.

Despite outshooting Hopkins 17-9, Hermantown saw the first period come to an end in a scoreless tie. Charlie Comnick broke that tie and got the Hawks on the board with a power play goal at 6:05 of the second period. Andrew Oaks put Hermantown up 2-0 with an even strength goal at the 10:39 mark. Before the second period was out, Archie Skalbeck scored for Hopkins, sending the two teams to the locker room with the Hawks up 2-1.

Comnick gave the Hawks a little breathing room, scoring his second goal of the game and sixth on the year at the 10:23 mark of the third period. Adam Krause salted the game away by hitting an empty net with 17 seconds left in the game.

Krause ended the night with three points, picking up assists on both of Comnick’s goals in addition to his empty netter.
