Barnum 83 Carlton 44


The Barnum Bombers had four players finish in double digits scoring Tuesday, leading them to the victory of their opening game of the winter sports season. Taylor Carlson had 16 points for the Bombers and Nick White added 14 in the win. Jake Adams had a game high of 22 points for the Bulldogs.

Esko 60 Hermantown 58 O.T.


Cody Townsend hit a jumper in the lane as time expired in overtime to give the Eskomos the win at home. Hermantown trailed by as many as 18 points, but scrapped their way back into the game and led with under a minute in regulation. Adam Eskuri, who finished with 18 points for Esko, hit 2 free throws to tie it at the end of regulation. Michael Swartz scored 18 points for the Hawks.

Floodwood 60 Wrenshall 35


The Floodwood Polar Bears expanded a five point halftime lead to a twenty-five point win at home on Tuesday night. Floodwood led 26-21 at the break and outscored Wrenshall by twenty in the second half to come away with the Polar League win. Josh Belden led Floodwood with 20 on the night, Aaron Gustafson finished with 14 for the Wrens.

Grand Rapids 65 Cloquet 51


Eric Stark led the Thunderhawks Tuesday night as Grand Rapids easily beat the Lumberjacks in Cloquet. The Thunderhawks led by 21 at the break and rolled to the 14 point win. Tim DeFoe led the Lumberjacks in scoring with 14 and Chad Calcaterra added 13 for Cloquet in the loss.

Proctor 64 Two Harbors 53


Anders Voss and Kaz Anderson led the way for the Proctor Rails as they started the boys basketball season with a win at home. The Rails led 30-21 at the break and went on to the eleven point win. Voss finished with 22 points on the night and Anderson chipped in 18 points. Ryan Guentzel and Jon Nevala-Plagemann each had 14 points for the Agates.

Rush City 64 MLWR 53


The Moose Lake-Willow River Rebels opened the 2009-2010 season with an eleven point loss on the road Tuesday night. Justin Bosman had a game high 27 points for the Rush City Tigers, Austin Jacobson led the Rebels with 20 points on the night and Trevor Nummela added 14 points in the Rebels loss.

Aitkin 39 ML-WR 36


The Moose Lake-Willow River Rebels trailed by five points at halftime and their rally came up short Tuesday, falling at home by three points. Maddy Adamczak finished with a game high of 18 points on the night for the Rebels. Meredith Caput would lead the Gobblers with ten points in the Gobbler win.

Cromwell 68 Lakeview Christian Academy 14


The Cromwell Cardinals exploded for 39 first-half points Tuesday as they cruised to the huge win over the Lions. Arianna Korpela led a group of eleven scoring Cardinal players. Korpela finished with a game high of 14 points. Hannah Franck finished with 8 points for the Lions.

Hermantown 44 Duluth Central 27


Hermantown had ten players score Tuesday night in their home opener victory over the Duluth Central Trojans. Mary Neumann led the Hawks with 10 points on the night in their seventeen point win.
The Trojans had three players finish with five points each on the night.
