The forecast for today is calling for a breezy, mostly cloudy day with a chance of rain showers.  That is what the Cloquet-Carlton and Proctor girls will face, besides each other, when they square off in a Section 7 Class A soccer quarterfinal match up in Proctor at 11am.

The Lumberjacks advanced to the quarterfinal round with a 4-0 romp over Two Harbors, while the Rails slipped by Grand Rapids 1-0.

On the season the Lumberjacks started slowly, but have finished with a 7-9-1 record and the Rails have been steady throughout this years campaign with a 9-8 record.

On paper the game should be nearly dead-even!  In very late September the Rails kicked their way to a 2-0 victory over the Jacks, but on October 1st the Lumberjacks reversed those numbers and nailed down a 2-0 victory over the Rails.

The winner will move on to play in the semifinals on Tuesday.  The other quarterfinal matchups include; Esko at Hermantown, Marshall at Denfeld and Princeton at Chisago Lakes Area.
