McGregor 79 Carlton 47


The McGregor Mercuries spoiled the Home opener for the Carlton Bulldogs using a 30-7 run over the last six minutes of the first half to cruise to the 32 point win. Alex Carlstrom led McGregor in scoring with 21 points on the night, while Jake Adams paced the Bulldogs with 17 points in the loss.

Hermantown 76 Duluth Denfeld 59


The Hermantown Hawks got their first win over Denfeld in several years as the Hawks come away with the 17 point victory at home. Tied at halftime the Hawks outscored the Hunters by 17 in the second half to come away with the win. Michael Swartz scored 21 points in the win, while Corey Kucza added 19. C.J. Ham led the Hunters with 16 points on the night.

Moose Lake-Willow River 55 Proctor 28


The Moose Lake-Willow River Rebels start their season 2-0 as they beat the Proctor Rails Friday Night. Kathryn Coil led a balanced Rebel scoring attack with eleven points; Kara Cloutier would lead the Rails with 8 points on the night. The Rails even their record at 1-1 on the season with the loss.

Hermantown 54 Duluth Denfeld 41


The Hermantown Hawks evened their record at 1-1 as they rolled to the 54-41 win at Denfeld High School on Friday. Trailing by two at halftime, Hermantown outscored the Hunters in the second half by 15 points for the win. Nicole Niemi was one of nine Hawks scoring Friday as she had 11 for Hermantown; Leah Hamm of the Hunters led all scorers with 22.

Cotton 63 Wrenshall 21


The Cotton Cardinals evened their record at 1-1 downing the Wrenshall Wrens 63-21. Wrenshall starts the season now 0-3 as they fall by 42 in Cotton Friday. Cotton led 43-0 at the half and cruise to the big win. Kristen Lahti led the Cardinals with 19 points, and Natalie Peaney finished with 10 for the Wrens.
