Braham wins Battle of Bombers

BARNUM- It was a match-up of two undefeated teams and two state ranked teams Friday night in Barnum and it turned out that the windy wet cold conditions affected the home Barnum Bombers more then the visiting Bombers of Braham as Braham picked up a 28-6 win over Barnum.

The Braham Bombers started fast Friday night as John Larson led the Braham Bombers with almost 300 yards of total offense as the Braham Bomber struck first as the moved the ball methodically down the field primarily trough the air and the first touchdown came when Larson ran from 7 yards out to put Braham ahead 8-0.

Following a three and out from Barnum it was again Braham marching down the field and the they capped the drive off when Larson connected with Quinn Richmond on a 14 yard touchdown pas to make it 14-0 in the first quarter.

Barnum’s offense didn’t get going till late in the second quarter after stopping the Braham Bombers four times inside the Barnum three yard line the Barnum Bombers marched down the field only to see a fourth down and short turn into a quarterback sack and it ended the Barnum drive before half.

Barnum put together several sustained drives in the second half but three second half turnovers were to much to over come as Braham added two more fourth quarter touchdowns to seal the victory.

Barnum scored a late touchdown on a screen pass from Brandon Newman to Zach Peterson but it was to little to late as Braham stayed unbeaten and moved to 6-0 on the season and they will host East Central next Friday night.

The Barnum Bombers fall to 5-1 overall on the season and they will be on the road next Friday night when they will face the Ogilvie Lions in Ogilvie.
