CARLTON – The Carlton Bulldogs made sure things went as planned in the Section 7A volleyball tournament. The Bulldogs tamed the Lakeview Christian Academy Lions 25-6, 25-15 and 25-8 in second round action and they will move on to the quarter finals on Friday at Hermantown when they take on Babbitt-Embarrass.

Both Tayler Carpenter and Clarissa Nelson had 11 kills for the Bulldogs, Sarah Aili finished with nine kills and Katie Bloom finished with 35 set assists in the win.

The Bulldogs will take on Babbitt-Embarrass, who is 18-5 on the season. Babbitt-Embarrass defeated Ely 25-14, 25-10, 19-25 and 25-10 to win their second round game on Wednesday night.

Quarter final games will be played in both Hermantown and Esko on Friday. At Hermantown, the game will feature AlBrook and Cook County, while Big Fork will play Deer River and Nashwauk-Keewatin will take on Floodwood in Esko.
