On Sunday, the Cloquet Lumberjack girls and Hermantown
Hawk boys
learned who their first round opponents would be in the 2009 Class “A” State soccer tournament.

The Cloquet girls will face #3 seed East Ridge High School in their first round of state tournament play.

East Ridge High School opened this year when the South Washington county school district decided to make a third high school addition. The campus is located in Woodbury, which is an eastern suburb of St. Paul. The Raptors, with a total enrollment of 1050, finished the year with a record of 11-6-1.

The 18-3-1 Jacks will square off with the Raptors at 5:30 pm Thursday at Roseville High School.

On the boys side of the tourney, Hermantown learned they received the #3 seed and drew Mankato West as their first round opponent. The 20-1 Hawks will take on the 18-2 Mankato West Scarlets at 5:30pm on Friday. The Hawks game will also be played at Roseville High School.
