The Barnum Bombers girls volleyball team coming off an extended break in their volleyball season downed the Bombers from Braham in a tough four game match. Barnum had not seen action since last Tuesday when they defeated Wrenshall, capturing their first ever Polar League Championship.

The ten day break didn’t seem to affect Barnum as they won the first two games of the match 25-21, and 25 -19. The Braham Bombers would bounce back however, winning an extended third game 29-27. Barnum did not let Braham think of a fifth game as they downed Braham 25-8 in the fourth game.

“It was a hard fought contest” Head Coach Corina Newman told Northland Sports Online. “They played really tough tonight and it was a good test before the playoffs begin next week.” Barnum should be the number one seed in the east half of the section 5A playoffs. Section 5A seedings and brackets come out Monday October 26th.

Katrina Newman again led the Bombers as she had 20 kills and 14 digs, Sammi Parker would add 8 kills, Candice Paulson and Karianna Duesler finished with 9 and 8 digs respectively, and Jess Newman registered 21 set assists on the evening.

With the win Friday night in Braham, the Barnum Bombers finish the regular season with an overall record of 21-2. The Braham Bombers record falls to 4-13; they have one match left on Monday against Pine City.
