Bulldogs Sweep Barnum

The Carlton Bulldogs continued with their fast start this fall in girls’ volleyball as the Bulldogs swept the Barnum Bombers Tuesday night at Carlton High School in a Polar League match-up.

The Bulldogs who started fast won the first game of the match 25-7, The Bombers closed the gap in the second game but were still beating by the Bulldogs by a score of 25-17, and the third game still a little closer it was the Bulldogs earning the sweep with a 25-20 victory.

Hannah Benson helped lead the Bulldogs Tuesday night as she finished with 21 set assists, and she also had 4 ace serves.

Macy Belich had 15 kills and 13 digs in the win, and Amanda Groth finished with 15 digs, and she also had 17 set assists for Carlton.

Lauren Hultgren finished with 12 set assists for the Bombers Tuesday night while Sage Miletich added 11 digs, while Daron Mainville finished with 10 kills and 5 blocks for the Bombers.

Carlton improves to 8-1 overall on the season, and they have won 21 of 25 games they have played this season. The Bulldogs are back in action on Thursday when they travel to Silver Bay to take on the Mariners in a conference match up.

The Bombers fall to 2-4 overall on the season and they will be home Thursday night where they will host the Wrenshall Wrens in a Polar League Conference match-up as they look to pick up their second conference victory.
