Two touchdowns by Willow Christensen in the second quarter helped the Floodwood Polar Bears break open a tight game with the Wrenshall Wrens in high school football on Friday night.  Floodwood went on to capture an 18-2 Great Northern Conference win, and in doing so, the Polar Bears improved to 3-0 on the season.

After a scoreless opening quarter it was Christensen who nabbed a 14-yard pass from Riley Bernsdorf to score and make it 6-0 for Floodwood.  The extra point kick was missed by Floodwood, but Christensen added another score before halftime when he caught another pass from Bernsdorf, this time for a 15-yard touchdown and the Polar Bears led it 12-0 at halftime following the missed extra point kick.

In the third quarter the Wrens picked up two points when the Polar Bears fumbled the ball through their own end zone giving Wrenshall a safety and cutting the Polar Bear lead to 12-2, but again Floodwood bounced back on an impressive punt return for a score by Cristensen of 42 yards that resulted in the final score of 18-2.

Floowood is 3-0 overall and 3-0 in the conference and is tied with Cromwell for the top spot in the conference after the first three weeks of play.
