Carlton’s Comeback Stops Panthers

In a battle of small school volleyball on Thursday the Carlton Bulldogs slipped by the South Ridge Panthers 3-2 in Carlton.  It wasn’t easy for the Bulldogs who trailed 2-0 after the first two games of the match.  Eventually the Bulldogs rallied for an 18-25, 17-25, 25-23, 25-14 and 15-10.

Grace Macor pounded down 14-kills and she added seven blocks in leading the Bulldogs to the victory.  Macy Belich chipped in with nine kills, Jessica Stanslaski had three blocks and Amanda Groth provided five ace serves.

Justice Janke had a strong roll for the Panthers with 15-kills, 15-digs and three ace serves.  South Ridge also got six kills and 20 digs from Mikayla Olesiak, Callie Thomason added 26 set assists, Krystal Karppinen provided eight kills, 18-digs and three ace serves.  The Panthers also got strong games from Mallory Thibault with eight kills,, 14-digs and five blocks and by Lindsey Janke who had 15-digs and three ace serves.

Carlton remains undefeated with a 4-0 record, while the Panthers drop to 3-2 on the season.
