Hilltoppers move to 2-0

The Duluth Marshall Hilltoppers moved to 2-0 on the football season with a 25-14 win over the Ogilvie Lions Friday night at Ogilvie High School. The Hilltoppers scored the first 25 points of the game and went on to the victory to move to 2-0 on the season.

Marshall got on the scoreboard in the first quarter when Jeremy Stephan scored on a 33 yard touchdown run and the Hilltoppers led 6-0 after one quarter. Charlie Kratz connected with Jordan Fralich on a 59 yard touchdown pass as the Hilltoppers took a 12-0 lead at halftime.

Marshall went ahead 18-0 when Fralich scored his second touchdown of the game on a 15 yard touchdown run. Marshal finished their scoring when Eric DeWhitte scored on a 1 yard touchdown run and a extra point made it 25-0 after three quarters of play.

Ogilvie added two late touchdowns in the fourth quarter but it was too little to late as Marshall picked up the road win. Marshall will look to make it three wins in a row when they face Eveleth-Gilbert at Eveleth Friday night.

The Lions fall to 0-2 overall on the season and they will be in action again on Friday night when they will travel up the shore to take on the Agates of Two Harbors. The Agates enter next weeks match-up unbeaten with a 2-0 record.
