Hermantown takes down CEC in Tennis Tuesday

The Hermantown girls tennis team was strong up and down the line up on Tuesday afternoon and parlayed that depth into a 5-2 victory over Cloquet-Esko-Carlton in Cloquet.

  CEC’s lone win in singles came from Breanne Baker at #1 singles when she downed Danielle Luke 6-2, 6-1.  Meanwhile the Hawks got wins from; Madelyn Miller, Bailey O’Connell and Stephanie Collins in singles matches 2-4.  Miller downed CEC’s Lora Chalich 6-2, 6-1 at #2, at #3 it was O’Connell taking a 6-2, 6-2 win over Rosalie Lundquist and at #4 it was Collins beating Courtney Ketola 6-0, 7-6.

 

  The lone CEC doubles win came at #2 where Arica Sheff and Katelyn Litke defeated Elizabeth Carlson and Becca Henningson 7-5, 7-5.  Hermantown’s Anna VanDeelen and Maria Ruhanen defeated Katrina Smith and Abbey Wangen at #1 doubles 6-1 and 6-2.  Hermantown’s Bri Garcia-Meyers and Jordan Cuva beat Lexi Robideaux and Hailey Martin of CEC 6-2, 6-1 at #3 doubles.
