Hermantown scores big on Marshall

The Hermantown Hawks after losing a close match-up with Rosemount on Saturday bounced back Tuesday afternoon when the Hawks scored nine goals in a 9-2 victory over Duluth Marshall in a Lake Superior Conference contest at Hermantown High School.

The Hawks scored three 1st half goals en route to a halftime 3-1 lead, as Maddie Danelski, Alyssa Siljendahl, and Lyla Abukhodair all scored for Hermantown in the first half. Allison McKenna scored the lone Marshall goal in the first half for the Hilltoppers.

The second half saw Abukhodair and Siljendahl each scoring their second goals of the match, while Hailey Hoff, Kate Hnatko, Kinna Hren, and Mikayla Kero rounded out the second half scoring for the Hawks. Marshall’s lone second half goal came from Megan Coughlan.

Anna Thickens stopped 22 shots for the Hilltoppers, while it was Delaney Vavra finishing with 6 saves and Allison Samberg had 4 for the Hawks Tuesday afternoon.
