CLOQUET – In a very emotional day in which late teammate Jordan Tucker’s jersey was retired, the C-E-C boys soccer team fell to Hermantown by a score of 4-1 at Bromberg Field in Cloquet.

Hermantown opened the scoring in the 10th minute when Willis Kantonen scored a pretty, unassisted goal from 20 yards on a well placed ball with lots of bend on it.

The Hawks added two more goals with Charlie Comnick scoring 12 minutes into the second half. Four minutes later Brett Ludwig made the score 3-0 in favor of Hermantown, with the assist going to Isak Abukhodair.

Nick Anderson responded and got the Lumberjacks back in the game in the 64th minute, scoring on a feed from Landon Straub.

Comnick added an insurance goal with 6:30 left in the game, with Abukhodair picking up his second assist of the game, giving the Hawks the 4-1 win.

During the halftime ceremony the C-E-C team captains, surrounded by head coach Archie Clark and the entire team presented the framed, retired jersey of Jordan Tucker to his family.
