Katie Konietzko had a rare triple double as the Cloquet volleyball team defeated Duluth Marshall 26-24, 24-26, 25-23 and 25-17 last night in Duluth.

For the record, Konietzko was nearly unstoppable as she finished with 19 kills, 14 digs and 12 set assists in the win. Keanna Karulak, who has made strong progress in the setter position, finished with 21 set assists and eight digs. Also helping the offense were Maddie Kiehn with 12 kills and Emily Fossen with four blocks and nine kills.

“Keanna (Karulak) is much improved and has shown a lot of progress at the setter position,” Cloquet coach Heidi Anderson commented to NSO. “I am proud of how our young team is responding right now.”

The Jacks, with only three seniors on the roster, start two sophomores, have a freshman and at times play a seventh grader, while the Hilltoppers sport seven seniors.

Leading the Hilltoppers was Asha Urban with 10 digs, Mary Krenzen with nine digs and Elisa Homstein with five kills and 12 digs.
