Sept 21

After stumbling to a 25-12 first game loss the Cloquet volleyball team made a better showing in game’s two and three. However, they still dropped a 3-0 decision to the Hibbing Blue Jackets on the road on Monday night.

The Lumberjacks played much better in a 25-22 loss in game two and nearly as well in a 25-20 game three loss. Yet,
that was of little consolation to the team, which is still searching for ways to run with the top teams in the area.

Katie Lange dominated at the net with 10 kills for the Blue Jackets, but Lange also received some help from both Courtney Wirtanen and Laice Grahek who both recorded seven kills.

Katie Konietzko pounded out 10 kills and had 10 set assists for the Jacks and Katie Schulz finished with six kills. Defensively, the Jacks got solid back row play from Kierra Johnson who chipped in with 16 digs and Skye Scheer who added 12 digs.

Next up for the Jacks will be a road game with Duluth Marshall on Thursday, September 24th in Duluth.
