Hibbing- The Proctor Boys Baseball team was hoping to repeat as the section 7AA boys baseball representatives to the state boys baseball tournament next week in St. Cloud but that hope was washed away as the International Falls Broncos scored the lone run of the game Tuesday afternoon in the bottom of the 10th inning to capture a 1-0 win and advance in the section 7AA boys baseball tournament.

A bases loaded walk to Ben Humbert walked in Wyatt Ulrich with one out in the bottom of the 10th inning as the Broncos score the lone run of the game and moved and moved into the section 7AA final three team teams in the double elimination tournament. The Broncos with one out in the bottom of the 10th had singles from both Ulrich and Caleb Dahlin and a walk to Gunner Anderson loaded the bases as Humbert saw the 3-2 pitch come in high and outside for ball four as the Broncos picked up the sectional win.

Caleb Dahlin who took over for starting pitcher Humbert in the top of the 8th inning was the winning pitcher for the Broncos who improved to 14-5 and advanced to face Cloquet in the section 7AA tournament. The Rails who saw their 2013 season come up short of expectations finished with only one hit on the afternoon a lone single from Evan Scherber in the 4th inning. Jack Nikko pitched a masterful game for the Rails but came up just short in the end. The Rails finish the season with a overall record of 11-7.
